Gary Moore - Over The Hills And Far Away (1986)












Gary Moore, former member of Thin Lizzy releases his 8th album "Wild Frontier" in 1987. His first studio album after a trip back to his native Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1985, this album has several songs about Ireland and even the music itself is steeped in Celtic roots. The album is dedicated to the memory of Phil Lynott, with the words "For Philip" on the rear cover. This album contains the hit "Over The Hills And Far Away", which reached #20 in the UK Charts.

Don Dixon - Southside Girl (1986)












Don Dixon is considered to be one of the key producers of what is called the jangle pop movement of the early 1980s. He spent thirteen years as a member of North Carolina cult heroes Arrogance. Around 1983, Dixon attracted attention by co-producing with Mitch Easter, R.E.M.'s landmark debut LP "Murmur" and in 1984 R.E.M.'s follow-up LP "Reckoning". He recorded his solo debut "Most Of The Girls Like To Dance But Only Some Of The Boys Like To" in 1986, a further affirmation of his love of classic pop melodies and spiky, Nick Lowe-inspired word play.

Het Goede Doel is een Nederlandstalige popgroep. De groep was aanvankelijk actief van 1979 tot begin jaren negentig. Opgericht door Henk Temming en Van Herk. Later werd Henk Westbroek er door zijn jeugdvriend Temming als zanger bijgehaald. Hun grootste hit is nog steeds ´Belgie´ uit 1982. In 1983, Phil Everly enjoyed significant UK success as a soloist with the album "Phil Everly", recorded mainly in London. Session musicians on the LP included Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler, Rockpile drummer Terry Williams, and keyboard player Pete Wingfield. The Jam were an English punk rock/mod revival band active during the late 1970s and early 1980s. "Town Called Malice", which boasts a Motown-style bassline somewhat reminiscent of The Supremes' "You Can't Hurry Love", is a song from the album "The Gift" (1982). The song, written by producer Thom Bell and Linda Creed, was about Bell's son, who was being teased by his classmates for being overweight. "Rain" is a single released by the British Rock band Status Quo in 1976. It was included on, "Blue For You" their the ninth studio album, released in March 1976.
"Rain" was originally intended to be included on the album "On The Level", but at the time of the recording sessions Rick Parfitt had not completed the song and so it was held over to the band's next release.

Joe Cocker is an English rock/blues musician, composer and actor who came to popularity in the 1960s, and is most known for his gritty voice, his idiosyncratic arm movements while performing, and his cover versions of popular songs, particularly those of The Beatles. Giorgio Moroder - Son Of My Father (1972)












"Son Of My Father" is a song popularised by Chicory Tip. Giorgio Moroder also recorded it and had a minor hit. Originally written by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte in Italian as "Tu sei mio padre" and recorded under the moniker Giorgio. A copy found its way to studio manager Roger Easterby who persuaded British band Chicory Tip to record it in English.

Rufus Thomas was an American rhythm and blues, funk and soul singer and comedian from Memphis, Tennessee, who recorded on Sun Records in the 1950s and on Stax Records in the 1960s and 1970s. He was the father of soul singer Carla Thomas and keyboard player Marvell Thomas.
