
VOF de Kunst is een Nederlandse popgroep opgericht in 1983 in Tilburg met als gezicht en zanger Nol Havens. De groep begint met twaalf leden. In de jaren 80 scoorde de groep enkele hits. Hun eerste single Suzanne wordt direct een nummer 1 hit. "´K Wil Niet Met Een Ander Dansen" kwam niet verder dan de Tipparade in 1984.

In 1982 Level 42 released their third album "The Pursuit Of Accidents". This was a further development of the Level 42 formula, maintaining their instrumental jazz-funk skills and styling but also experimenting further with pop songs. "The Chinese Way" was the second single taken of that album and reached #24 in the UK Charts.

Roxy Music are an English art rock group formed in November 1970 by Bryan Ferry.
In 1981, Roxy Music recorded the non-album single "Jealous Guy". A cover of a song written and originally recorded by John Lennon, Roxy Music recorded "Jealous Guy" as a tribute to Lennon after his 1980 death. The song topped the UK charts for two weeks in March 1981, becoming the band's only #1 single.

(145) McGuinn, Clark & Hillman - Don't You Write Her Off (1979)

During 1978, Roger McGuinn joined fellow ex-Byrds Gene Clark and Chris Hillman to form "McGuinn, Clark and Hillman", and the three together recorded the album "McGuinn, Clark and Hillman" in 1979 . The media loved the band and they performed on many TV rock shows, including repeated performances on The Midnight Special, where they played both new material and Byrds hits. "Don't You Write Her Off" reached #33 in April 1979. While some believe that the slick production and disco rhythms didn't flatter the group, and the album had mixed critically and commercial response, it sold enough to generate a follow up.

The Osmonds are an American family music group with a long and varied career—a career that took them from singing barbershop music as children, to achieving success as teen-music idols, to producing a hit television show, and to continued success as solo and group performers. Their clean-cut image and well-scrubbed good looks brought them immense popularity among teenagers and they even starred in their own cartoon series. During the early to mid-70s, they continued to release successive hits, including ´Having A Party´ from the album "Love Me For A Reason" (1974). The individual members continued to prosper in varying degrees, but the family group disbanded in 1980. Two years later, the older members of the group re-formed without Donny, and moved into the country market.

Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel are an English rock band from the early 1970s. Their music covers a range of styles from pop to progressive rock. The original Cockney Rebel was formed when Harley hooked up with his former folk music partner, Crocker (fiddle / mandolin / guitar) in 1972. They auditioned drummer Stuart Elliott, bassist Paul Jeffreys, and keyboardist Milton Reame-James. They were signed to EMI after playing five gigs. Their first single, "Sebastian", was an immediate success in Europe, although it failed to score in the UK Singles Chart. Their debut album, The Human Menagerie, was released in 1973. Although not a commercial success they did attract a growing following in London. The band recorded the second album, "Psychomodo". A major UK tour was arranged and the single "Judy Teen" picked up airplay. By the time it charted, major TV appearances helped to build the tour into one of the major rock events of 1974.
